Evaluation the Effect of some Plant Extracts in Controlling the Oriental Hornet vespa orientalis Linnaeus, 1771 Near the Apiaries

Abstract A significant amount of apiaries is destroyed in most areas Iraq by attacking the hornet Vespa orientalis Linnaeus, 1771, as well deterioration European honey bees’ Apis mellifera 1758 productivity recently because environmental changes and pollutions; this effect was evident economy plant production, bees popular species pollinator crops globally. There no effective environmentally safe method yet; Therefore, study suggested to use essential oils Mediterranean cypress Cupressus sempervirens L., 1753 (Pinales: Cupressaceae), testing a repellant substance. In current investigations, we used three concentrations: 25000, 50000 100000 ppm test efficacy oil with cow spleen attractive bait for wasp, addition to, extract tested it within apiary beehives prevent wasps catching worker bees.
